Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci was born on December 12, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she has the record of being awarded 10/10 marks at an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics instructor who later became Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci when she was just six years old. She participated in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an the all-around junior champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver at her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do a reverse double salto, which is dismounting from the uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment business began during her teens, when she began doing figure skating with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol was a professional in the world of entertainment in her teens. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater for traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice skating shows that included theatrical performances.
